Meet Amber Howell: The Heart Behind the MHAfred HELPLINE
You’ve seen her on our website, you’ve seen her on social media, and chances are you’ve spoken to her on the phone! We’re thrilled to shine a spotlight on our incredible MHAfred HELPLINE Coordinator, Amber Howell.
Amber joined the MHAfred team on June 20, 2024, and from day one, she has been a great part of our team. Her dedication, compassion, and great work ethic have made a significant impact on both our organization and the community we serve.
Not only does Amber coordinate the MHAfred HELPLINE; she attends community events where she shares information about our nonprofit. She also attends training courses that help guide her conversations with community members like you. Lastly, Amber travels around our community, showing others how to utilize the MHAfred HELPLINE.
Amber is always finding ways to grow and give back. She has added over 80 new providers to our directory since January 2025. She brings empathy and understanding to every conversation, helping individuals navigate challenges and connect them with resources best suited for them.
Outside of working with MHAfred, Amber is an upstanding member of our community. She has always found ways to help others through her volunteer work and kind words of encouragement!

I am able to be part of the solution to a problem that I, myself, have come up against, in trying to find resources for my own family.
