Summer 2025 was full of energy, connection, and community for the team at MHAfred. We were excited to get out and about in Fredericksburg and surrounding areas, meeting people where they are and spreading awareness about mental health resources, support, and what we do here at Mental Health America Fredericksburg Region.
FXBG Pride 2025
We kicked things off in June at FXBG PRIDE, one of the region’s most vibrant and inclusive events. Held at Riverfront Park, the festival featured over 120 vendors, live performances, and a strong message of belonging and resilience. With thousands of attendees, it was a great opportunity to connect with folks from all walks of life and share our commitment to mental wellness for everyone.
Next to Normal: Presenting at Riverside Center for the Performing Arts
Later in the summer, we were honored to participate in community conversations during the Riverside Center’s production of Next to Normal, a powerful musical that explores mental health and family dynamics. Throughout the show run, Riverside Center for the Performing Arts invited community members and nonprofits who work in the mental health space to share resources, information, and stories of resilience. We were thrilled to share the history, mission, and programs of MHAfred. It was an emotional and meaningful experience that opened up important dialogue.
National Night Out
In August, we joined the Spotsylvania County Sheriff’s Office for National Night Out at Spotsylvania Towne Centre. Families from across the county came together for this fun evening of community connection, safety awareness, and family-friendly activities. We were proud to be part of it and to offer mental health resources in a space focused on trust and togetherness.
MHAfred at the FredNats Stadium!
We closed out the summer at the Fundadores Friday game at the FredNats stadium! This event celebrated Hispanic culture with live music, food, local vendors, and, of course, baseball! It was a wonderful evening to engage with families and small business owners, share materials in both English and Spanish, and enjoy the festive spirit of the community.
From parades to ballparks, MHAfred made the most of Summer 2025 by connecting with people across the region. We’re so grateful to everyone who stopped by our tables, shared their stories, or picked up a resource. We look forward to keeping this momentum going into the fall!
