 Walk  for Mental Wellness

Save the date  -  May 5, 2012!!

Join us for the 5th annual Walk for Mental Wellness: "a Walk for the 1n4"

It takes a community effort to reduce stigma that has surrounded mental health for decades so people seek the help they need. Many of us have family members, friends, neighbors and co-workers who face mental health challenges.

Mental Health Provider Listing

MHAF provides a free, confidential Mental Health HelpLine to assist people in accessing needed resources in our community.  In order to provide accurate information to callers, MHAF maintains a listing of mental health professionals. This listing reflects information as reported by professionals to MHAF.

Take a look!

New expanded interest and specialty areas including providers who accept Medicaid and Medicare

MHAF also includes mental health agencies as part of the provider listing to enhance access to treatment services for those seeking help for themselves or clients. Please complete the mental health agency form and return to MHAF. Your agency information will also be provided to Rappahannock United Way (RUW) for inclusion in the Community Connections Directory (CCD) that is posted on the RUW website. For those agencies already included in the CCD that are listed on the second page of the agency form, please review your information and send any additions and/or revisions to MHAF.

FPCUG is MHAF key to computer happiness!

Many thanks to our friends at Fredericksburg Personal Computer Users Group who provided new equipment and updated software that will allow us to more efficiently serve people with mental health needs in our community. A special thank you to Kay Pollock, a longtime MHAF supporter, and to Josh Cockey, our tech guru who has donated many hours of his time installing and keeping our office equipment updated.

MHAF unique services provide positive community impact.

These include:

  • the only Mental Health Referral & Information Services HelpLine connecting people with needed providers and resources
  • the only free companion and supportive services program for homebound older adults
  • the oldest public policy  grassroots organization in our community advocating for mental health legislation and funding for community-based services
  • and much, much more!!

Help us ensure that each and every one of us has access to health, hope and recovery! Support your MHAF!
